System requirements

AgentRidge runs its reasoning engine locally, so it asks for a capable machine and some free disk space. On first launch the app runs an automatic compatibility check and tells you where you stand before you continue.

Supported operating systems

PlatformMinimumRecommended
macOSmacOS 12 (Monterey)macOS 13+ on Apple silicon
WindowsWindows 10 64-bit, build 17763 (1809)Windows 11
Linux64-bit Debian-basedUbuntu 22.04 LTS or newer
  • macOS builds are available for Apple silicon (arm64) and Intel (x64).
  • Windows builds are 64-bit (x64).
  • Linux builds are 64-bit (x64), delivered as AppImage and .deb.
ResourceMinimumComfortable
Memory (RAM)8 GB16 GB or more
CPU4 cores8 cores or more
Free disk~8 GB free~25 GB free
  • Below 8 GB of RAM or 4 CPU cores, the compatibility check shows a soft warning — the app still runs, but long missions are slower.
  • The full local runtime, including the extended knowledge and challenge library, can use up to roughly 20 GB of disk once downloaded; plan for about 25 GB free for headroom. The free-trial runtime is much smaller.

The compatibility check

When you first open AgentRidge it inspects your operating system, version, architecture, memory, and CPU, then classifies each item as:

  • OK — good to go.
  • Warning — usable but below the comfortable threshold (for example, low RAM or few cores). You can continue.
  • Blocking — the app can't run here (for example, an unsupported or too-old operating system). You'll need to resolve it before continuing.

You can re-run the check at any time from the setup screen. See First launch for the full setup walkthrough.

Network

AgentRidge needs internet access for three things: the one-time runtime download on first launch, account sign-in and licensing, and reaching the authorized targets of your engagements. The reasoning itself runs locally — see Local-first design.
